The scent of wood alone reveals that it is a matter of quality.
I have several tree-based Thomann flight cases and they have never disappointed in the quality. They are nicely assembled, and the hinges and locks are good solid.
At this box, I found the spring-loaded butterfly lock extra nice to have, as it makes the box even easier to put a lid on.
It is heavy, but the quality is good.
I will definitely choose a Thomann case next time I need one.
This rack case is very well made and almost perfect for my needs, but it loses one star because neither the sales page or the photographs make it clear that there are only rack mounting rails at the front of the case. I would have liked rails at the rear as well, so that I could have put a rack mounted power distribution, patch panels, ventilation etc at the rear...it's not a deal breaker but would've been nice. Apart from that it's a really good piece of kit...
I have a number of these and all are similarly poor quality
All the fittings have deteriorated to dull, corroded finish. Imagine what happens to aluminium when you leave it outside, this is similar to how my cases have gone
They have not lived outside, but rather a warm room
Wish i hadn't started down the route of buying these
