This pedal has a warmth and impressive ability to modulate the signal without losing the guitar tone. It is is very different from the MXR Flanger & Chorus pedals - these seemed designed for slightly different purposes.
The stereo output, which can be fed into a TC MIMIC widens the output, creating studio level effects straight from your guitar pedals.
I replaced another very good chorus/flanger pedal with this one, but it has been my fixation since I owned the original decades ago and I think it was stolen from me cos I was told it was broken beyond repair (but I don't believe it was). This is perfect. beautiful tone in all the possible settings of chorus, flanger and pitch. Careful with the input gain: it might affect the general volume if not set correctly (especially if you use it through the FX loop).
It really sounds like the 80's!
instantly recognizable sound that you heard in hundreds of albums from the 80's.
Not a dark sounding pedal. I'd say the sound is a bit sharp. I already have a bunch of warm/dark sounding pedals so I'll keep this for another flavour in the studio. I can imagine it being useful at some point for some side panned guitar line that needs a little sharpness and movement.
I bought this unit really just for the Chorus and l was looking for that 70's big open chorus. This has it and it is not complicated to use straight forward with just the odd rotation of a knob. Would recommend it for this purpose with the added bonus of a great flanger and modulation.
