I put this TonePros TPFR C on my Sire L7 and was quite surprised by the improvement in tone. The strings ring better and the guitar feels more responsive … somewhat like when you put new strings on. It sounds like the harmonics are coming through more. Very nice, especially if you play clean.
It wasn’t a simple drop-in replacement though. It would only go on by loosening the bridge posts to provide enough give to push the roller bridge on, then screwing them back in. Making it very tight - which is probably a good thing for tone. The next problem was the rollers are very slightly higher than regular saddles. So on the Sire I couldn’t get the action low enough before the knurled flanges on the posts hit the top flange of the inserts. I had to grind some of the flange away and take some material off the bottom of the bridge where it sits on the post flange.
Overall though am delighted with it … I would definitely recommend you get one for your best/favourite guitar.
I decided to get a roller bridge along with a Deusenberg Les Trem II. I wasn't sure which one to get, as there's a few to choose from, but a quick email to Thomann sorted it out with a very prompt reply. I am delighted with the combination on my Gretsch Streamliner 2622 and it now looks, feels and sounds more expensive than it actually was.
Installed on HB JA60 and had the same problem like some fellow guitarists who has Sire LP. Poorly designed bridge. Too high. I had to grind bottom side for almost 2 mm so it can be lowered to desired height. While doing grinding few rollers along with their shafts fell off. Needed 10 minutes to find such a small parts so I can reassemble bridge. (I was very happy to find them at all). It works now but totaly disapointed with quality. Not worth 77€.
(Note: Few days after instalation I run onto some guitar site that sells pretty much identical bridge for 22€.)
I wonder on what type of guitars this bridge will fit perfectly.
Hochwertig und tut, was es soll. Sauber gefertigt, Bundreinheit gut justierbar.
