Now I don't have a lot of experience, but what I can say is that I have done a lot of research of different models of alto saxophones, all the way from the "Amazon alto sax'es" to the Selmer series, and the warm sound produced from such a cheap instrument, is honestle quite remarkable. I'm sure a professional could tell the difference rather quickly, but to a beginner/ intermediate player wanting to explore the woodwinds, this is a no-brainer for a starting point.

I am a trumpet player who wanted to learn the sax. I have been tooting away with this guy for just over a week, and feel confident I will be playing sax for a long time. This is thanks to Thomann for selling a quality horn that is very affordable. The fit and finish are nice and it was playable right out of the box. With research I bought a yamaha 4c mouthpiece and I am using a HH Fibereed. I could not be happier. I see a future of me owning all the saxophone family.

I have no experience with other sax brands but as a beginner i picked up very quickly and easy with tas-180.
I test it for leaks with a led strip inside the tube and it was perfect!
All notes sound loud and clear and im using a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece.
There is nothing like it in this price range,if you are a beginner and you dont want to spend a fortune,tas-180 must be your choice!

This instrument plays better than others way above its price point. It is stunningly beautiful, well built, smooth in response and very easy to play. Because I can now trust Thomann wind instruments, I am going to get the soprano and tenor too !
