These cables are all numbered and also colour coded. I use this for the behringer 4ch compressor.
Quality is great and its a little heavy cable.Cable tie nice touch.
The colour coding is actually fairly intuitive. But it would have still been nice to have it clarified somewhere
So the blue/yellow cable that goes into the insert of the has the yellow at the top and blue at the base of the connector, This means that the yellow banded cable is the tip/send and the blue is the ring/return.
These cables do their job. However, if you are new to this kind of multicore cables, you should beware that the connectors on one end cannot be plugged too far apart. And that the overall length of the cable is fixed and can't be easily changed. For some applications, it might be better to have many single cables, each of the appropriate length.
I have bought several of these SSsnakes cables and they all work like they should. Beacuse it is all in one cable it makes the spagetti on the floor much easier to handle. I'm using these y cable to connect inserts from my mixer to my patchbay (also bought from Thomann, a behringer on). The plan is to pacth our 24 channel mixer to patchbays to add flexibillity during recording and mixing.. (old school). And I'm planning on buying more of these SSSnakes cables to patch it all up. Maybe if you went up the price range you would get a better sound, but my guess is you would have to go considerable much up in price to get that. you cant go wrong with these..
I have used these insert cables to patch in the Aviom AN16 input module to provide in ear monitors from our analogue mixer. I changed a couple of connectors to XLR so that I could put similar channels, like presenter mics through an aux mix to 1 Aviom channel. Also used one of these to take the headphone out from an electronic drum kit in to 2 mixer channels. These insert cables work very well with no noticeable noise and are really good value for money.
