The wired V7 happens to be one of my favorite live vocal mics, so getting a wireless version was a no-brainer. SE Electronics are always at the top of their game when it comes to build quality, and paired with Sennheiser's SKM-S transmitter base + EW-D receiver, the mic capsule sounds superb.
No doubt there are a lot of reviews out there of this capsule, nevertheless I want to leave mine.
Most noticeable features are as follow:
- Tone for vocal in the midds gives a "real" feeling without much of EQing
- Top end clarity (but not too harsh -> very very very smooth)
- Plosives are well controlled because of the pop filter incorporated
If I had to leave some bad feedback, the only thing would be the lack of color choice too match with most handheld Sennheiser transmitters
Overall: Best money to quality supercardiod capsule
Bought as it is (IMO) the only reasonably priced and decent sounding Sennheiser 2000 compatible dynamic supercardioid capsule.
As a long time Shure user i have to admit that the V7 just sounds better than the beta 58a.
Have heard that the V7 isn't as reliable though.
Hope mine stand up to regular use.
Pretty sure you can't do better at this pricepoint.
