I was initially planning on buying another brand but thought I would try a Schecter instead.
I chose this because it looked really good, and it has the thinner neck profile.
The EMG 57/66 set is not my taste though, and they are really noise sensitive compared to the 81/85/60 models. I am planning to replace them, maybe with a set of Fishmans instead.
It came almost perfectly set up, and was tuned almost to pitch but in Bb not B.
On closer look the spring on the saddle on the B string was a bit too short which made the screw rattle when it was intonated. I fixed that by replacing the spring, but when looking closer the saddle is missing a little piece on the back of it. Nothing that affects playability but none the less its not cool when the guitar is this expensive.
I will probably write Thomann and make them aware of this.
Also the nut is not the same width as the neck, but its only half a millimeter and it doesn't affect anything.
The guitar is beautiful and it plays really well after minor trussrod adjustment and intonation which should be expected, even when it comes to more expensive guitars.
This one is a keeper though, its comfortable and I will choose this over other brands any day. Its made in Korea and it fully lives up to what I expected.
I just wanted to include the minor flaws I found, but these days with mass produced guitars you can do worse with more expensive guitars from other brands.
Thomann lowered the price after I bought it but they refunded the money they lowered it by in a few days.
