I record albums that is only available as download. I buy them and record from 24bit/96kHz to my Harman Kardon TD 4400. I found out that the max peak when recording is +5dB with Dolby B on. The result when playing RTM90 is a open dynamic clean sound, really close to the original digital. Tape hiss with Dolby B are not noticeable when playing music. Max peak on the recorded RTM90 is +3 dB. I actually have a few new cassette studio recordings from Band camp with less dynamic and more tape hiss, that sound a bit muffled with Dolby on, where my own recoding of the digital album are superior. Go figure. That said the majority of studio recorded new and old from various studios and artists are just fine. What I'm trying to say is the RTM90 ferro can actually make a record as good as a studio recording from a digital source to a good tape deck.
Sounds great. Little noise, clear highs, good bass.
I usually prefer chrome tapes, but you can’t get those new any more. This is more than good enough. I set my tape deck’s bias, and cranked some recordings. Very pleased.
I love these audio cassettes. Great quality at a competitive price. And cheaper than Amazon. What's not to love. They look smart, and have screws, if like me you're looking to create your own tape loops too. Recommended.
