If you have the time to wrap tape around your guitar neck to do some
deep cleaning of the frets, then its all good, BUT if you are in a hurry to get the job done because the rock concert needs you on stage playing, then these sets of very well made fret guards are the thing you need.
Just chose the correct width shape you need for your frets and grab your Dremel tool with a little disc-sponge (soaked with metal cleaning fluid) and its a quick cleaning job to get those dull frets on your lovely guitar looking like new and shiny.
Super sparkly looking clean frets that all the ladies will adore to look at!
These are well made and good to have in the bag ... I guess. But the thing is that when I am doing fretwork on my guitars I never use them. I use the Hoisco fret file which has safe edges (everyone should have one) and for levelling, sanding and buffing the frets I tape up the fretboard.
So, I have mixed feelings about this products, on the on hand it is well made and feels premium but who needs this?
I do all the maintenance on my guitars and basses and have no use for this. But hey, what do I know :)
Great for occasional home use but won't last forever in a workshop

I've owned several of these in the past. They're great tools and a lot more convenient than similar products without a handle.
For occasional home use they will probable last a lifetime. They are not particularly sturdy though. I've used these at my workshop and they seem to last around one year before they break at the joint between the metal blade and the handle.
At this price I don't really expect any better quality but if MusicNomad had offered a more expensive, sturdier "Pro" version I would have ordered it immediately. These ones WILL need regular replacement at a busy workshop but they're probably fine for hobbyist/home use.
The main problem with all fretboard guards is that when you rub your frets the guard will move and will scratch the fretboard. The handle offers better handling but you still have to be carefull and keep the fret guard steady.
