I bought this to use with my Helix floor unit and I’m so glad I did, it really is in my opinion worth the money and it’s loud! However it can also be used in a bedroom or studio. The on board speaker emulations are great especially the Celestion Creamback model. It’s great as a monitor with the tilt back legs which angle the speaker directly at you. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with your purchase.
Very good sounding speaker with Helix in combination.
Transition from my "Analog" amps to this equipment :just working fantastic.
Sounds and feeling authentic to "analog" amps and cabs!
I've had the Helix rack for some time. Been using it into my mixer and out of the studio monitors. But I wanted something that felt more amp-like, as in physically it feels natural to have the sound coming from one spot near the floor. Also, you can bend down and promote the feedback.
Well this does the job perfectly as it's made to accompany the Helix. Using it with the LINK cable, I can have the rack still going to the mixer and these speakers at the same time. Win-win!
The flat mode is the one I use as I have my presets with the cabs in them. Using the cab profiles in this unit sounds ok. I don't really hear much difference between them. But for those who do the option's there.
I got this to work in a live and in a studio situation. It seamlessly connects to my podhd500x and also to the Yamaha pa system that I use via the stereo outs. The sounds that I have created on my podhd500x are now sent accurately to the audience and to me (when the 212 plus is used as a monitor). If you want you can even add another amp of your choice from the array of loaded cabs or use it in flat more to replicate the sound leaving your pedals/floorboard. I love it and although more expensive than the 112 version this can has stereo as a feature which for me makes this a fantastic speaker/monitor. I perform a lot live and perform everything from pop to steve via and this handles every genre that I can think of throwing at it. This piece of kit has many more features than I have used up to now.
