I built my career on Orange amps in the 70s and 80s. I know the sound very well and the Oxford can emulate the OR80 and some other famous models. The complaints that some have about the noise is true. One has to watch the mind the interaction of the Gain and Voice controls. They are highly interactive and you have to balance them for the sound you need with the least amount of noise. The tone controls are wide ranging and you can get some very interesting clean tones as well. In the studio through an 1176 compressor it really does sound like an Orange amp mic'd up. If you add speaker emulation or an IR you can get a very credible guitar sound out of the Oxford.
Great little pedal that gives that classic Orange tone . I use it as a back up for gigs should my amp fail . Best used with the mid & treble EQ rolled off a bit . Also sounds great in front of my Fender blues Jr to give some grit. Great value for money .
