I bought this pair of knobs for an archtop project. Wanted to have a natural look and they fit the purpose well.
Pros:
Very woody feeling as they are made of wood. The outside part feels very comfortable and they are nice to touch.
Cons:
One knob were bad centered so when I turn it the knob goes like in an elipse or flat tire. As the inside is plastic tried to center it somehow but not fitting perfect.
Overall:
Nice pair of knobs. Would give a max rate but having a wobbly one giving a 4.
And yes they looks and feel very nice!
It looks nice but of course quality is not the best. Though I doubt you could find something like this at this price. The inner plastic ring is brittle, but you can work with it. I had to soak it in peroba oil to make it look bright and nice. After that, it suits perfectly my Cort A5 and even looks handmade :) I really liked it!
It's a much cheaper option than the original Hipshot o-ring knobs. Tohose are my favorite type of knobs because of the non slip feel. I paird them with a maple fretboard so mi G&L Tribute Bass now has a bit of a custom vibe to the looks.
I also bought the rosewood ones a year before, and on those the o-rings started to break off. That's cheap to replace, but still a drawback. No sign of wear on the maple ones yet.
These are wonderful knobs for the cost, so much nicer than typical metal or plastic. The rubber grip o-rings make them extremely practical also. I've been able to fit them to both CTS and Alpha split shaft pots by either pinching or flaring the shaft a little before fitting.
