I bought this nut for my P-bass for optimal adaption to its wider neck than the J-bass conifiguration.
The nut is great and works well after adaptation and it is just the right thing for those who want a whiter colour than the usual vintage unbleeced product which is also accessible at Thomann. The material is bleeched bone nut and the price is quite right because of the other costs of time spent for precise adaptation and carving using special tools (also in stock at Thomann).
So - my only complaint is that Harley Benton could manufacture a carved version of bone nut for P-basses and J-basses. This would be even more a success for Harley Benton and the consumers. I give 4 stars in my overall evaluation.
When you get tired of searching for the right pre-made replacement nut for your guitar of the correct material with correct spacing and height, you end up buying few of the blanks and everything is under your control.
The first one always takes longest, but after you learn how to do that, it is a standard solution for each other guitar. In case you cut the slot too low, there are hotfix solutions - shim the nut with piece of wood or use baking soda + superglue to raise the badly cut slot. Then buy a new blank and cut it properly - it does not cost a fortune and it is a major piece of the guitar.
The two I received were much easier to file than bone nuts I've used from AliExpress, which made me a little wary, but they seem to be fine and polished up very smoothly. Sound great, so can recommend.
