I've owned over 30 bass guitars incuding G&L, Fender, Sire, Cort and many more. For a standard passive SS J Bass I don't think you could get much better for under £500.
I now have reduced my bass collection (I play more guitar) to the Harley Benton Enhanced MJ-4EB and this. These two basses are all I will ever need for future gigs.
The Burgundy Mist is also a stunning looker. Only improvement needed might be SS frets (21 or 22 frets, not 20. 21 frets ensure the lowest note and the highest notes are both E) and maybe stiffer tuners but I'm sure they'll be fine.
I've been playing bass guitar for many years. I tried a friend's Harley Benton and was amazed. /i own several of the top name brand bass guitars. This Harley Benton does not seem inferior in comparison, especially at this price point. Being so satisfied, I bought a Harley Benton ST-62RW Hot Rod six string guitar. It's pretty awesome for the price point as well. No complaints about either indument. Both are gig worthy.
