GHS Boomers 8 Thin n Thick 10-80 Electric Guitar Strings
Anonym 02.06.2016
I usually use the D'addario 10 - 74 strings for my Ibanez 8 string guitar but when I tune the thickest string down to a Drop E, it feels kind of flappy when I play it. As there was no 10 - 80 strings available in my usual brand, I had the choice to buy a 7 string set and a single 8th string or find a new brand. The GHS Boomers 10-80 fitted my needs perfectly and although I had never played GHS before I knew the brand had a good reputation. I have not been let down in this belief in any way. I am content and very satisfied with my choice and will propably buy them again,
Great strings with a High Tension. Clear sound on most strings.
In my case, the low F# went a bit dull after a few days. Not sure if I can relate this to the strings themselfs. ( I might have done something wrong?)
Overall, it is not a huge problem and I am very happy with this set.
Would recommend! :-)
Bought this for my Cort KX508MS II 8 string which is 26.5"-28", and in F# standard. It's been about a week and they still feel and sound great after hours of playing every day.
Only complaint is the F# is very dull compared to how bright the rest of the strings are, but I think that might be due to the 80 gauge. If brightness is important to you, I recommend going for a lighter gauge on the bottom, which I plan to do.
