I've been a big fan of Ernie Ball strings for as long as I can remember, certainly over 20 years. The stainless steel series have definitely saved me a ton of money over that time. Because they resist oxidization and resist breakage better than regular strings, they genuinely last longer. Not only do they need replacing less frequently but the feeling of having fresh strings when you just put them on lasts a whole lot longer. I'm a light player with sweaty fingers and I've found over the years that Ernie Ball Custom Guage Stainless Steel Super Slinky strings suit me the best by a very long margin.
I never used stainless steel strings before but now I'm blasted. Right now I don't need to order a new pack because they seem to be everlasting.
It would be a lie to tell you that they don't get old but at least it takes a few weeks!
My hands are not sweaty at all but it's enough to get regular nickel strings get rusty over the time even if I use string conditioner like Fast Fret every now and then.
With these stainless steel strings I have a continuous string quality for weeks without Fast Fret.
If you don't like coated strings you should definitely try the EB stainless steel strings.
Pros
Really nice clean sound, easy to slide your fingers when new
Cons
don't age well and not really stainless.
Great strings when new, but after a few weeks they started to stain and lost that smooth surface and nice look. Nonetheless they kept sounding pretty nice.
