IO recieved my 2020 Flying V ebony well in advance of Thomann's estimate of 5-7 weeks. Nice surprise. Upon unboxing the instrument, I was pleasantly surprised too by the gorgeous piano-laquer finish. Closer inspection revealed a well-constructed instrument with very few cosmetic flaws like small tooling marks on the (somewhat dry) fretboard. Next: String change, trussrod adjustment, bridge ditto and some lemon oil for the fretboard, and a sound check revealed a truly fine-sounding guitar. The electronics and pickups are very, very nice. There a gorgeous classic rock and blues tones to be had in all three positions, and the CTs pots really do work. Sweet! The bad: The fretjob was pretty dismal, and I had to send it in for a pro fretlevel. That's not so good, but even if you factor in this cost, the guitar is still reasonably priced for what you get: A well-built, solid and fine-sounding (think clear, warm, chirpy PAF-sounds) ?58-style Flying V.
