Zoom PCH-5

De zoom PCH-5 is een goed product voor een degelijke prijs. De afwerking is in orde en ze geeft voldoende bescherming aan de H5 ook in de regen blijft de H5 droog.Alle funties zijn bereikbaar, zowel knopjes als in en outputs, de enigste misser is dat je de batterijen niet kunt vervangen, je moet dus eerst het apparaat afkoppelen en uit de PCH-5 halen om dan de batterijen te vervangen, niet echt handig op locatie dus.

Kortom een must als je met de zoom H5 field recordings wilt doen en niet wilt dat je H5 vuil of nat wordt!

The Zoom PCH-5 allows you to easily have full control of your recorder without to take it out. Also your recorder is at safe place if you are outdoor and having bad weather conditions. For sure I'm recommending this product to everyone which want to have they recorders safe while using them anywhere.

I bought the box to carry my zoom in a safe way. The box it self is really uncomfortable to handle. In addition to that the microphone (the part that I wanted to protect) only has a little hat that only works for keeping dust out.
Not recommended at all.

Feels like a sturdy case that's also good for catching bumps. Very easy to access all ports, though the peel-away front feels a little clumsy if you're indoors adjusting recording settings. No big deal. The one point of improvement would be a cover or bump-stop inside the capsule cover. Right now this is only a piece of fabric to prevent dust and water getting on the capsules.

The Zoom H5 fits snugly inside of this pouch. All inputs are accessible by pulling out the velcro-fastened flaps. For the mic hood, it doesn't fit on if you use the windscreen that comes with the H5. It feels flimsy and gives false sense of protection (essentially it's just cloth on top of the mics).

Since I've had that, I consistently bring my H5N for outdoors recording, even if the weather looks like it's going to pour down on me. It's sturdy, fully waterproof, and has won my trust repeatedly.

But then, the handling of the gain knobs and of the microphone could be done in a smarter way, as it isn't super practical right now.
