Yamaha Reface CS

This was a nice entry into synths for me. My background is in C64-music and I love the oldschool sounds of this. Especially appealing to people who like to shape the sound on-the-fly, you can get some great effects by turning the knobs while playing. If you love the 80s era synth sounds, you'll find a lot to like here. Although it's a digital emulation, it captures the analogue sounds nicely. Some criticism: the built-in looper is hard to control precisely; the keys are too small for fast single-note playing, but work fine for chording and slower riffs; you can store presets via ipad, but the manual doesn't tell you about this or how to do it. Overall you get a lot for the asking price.
