I bought a Thomann Soprano sax recently and did not like the plastic M/P that came with it . This was no surprise , it was the sax I was after . The Sax is excellent and have reviewed it already. I studied the various M/P's avaiable and went for the V5 S15 . It is superb and give me a good sound at top and bottom. I put Jazz reed ( 2.0 ) on it and it is good at staying in tune . ( Always a problem when starting the sop. sax. . I fact I practice with a tuner all the time to check on lip pressure to make sure I am in tune , highly recommended ).
This M/P will last because it is made from ebonite not plastic , though there is nothing wrong with plastic M/P , I use a Yamaha on my Alto and it plays fine.
So, highly recommended but check with the Vandoren web site to make sure you choose the righ one.
