This mini china is such a good price. The sound very good. I bought it because i usually play metal and hard rock styles but it actually works in other genres as well. And considering its 80% cheaper than the other mini chinas i was considering getting, this was a very good purchase. Tiniest criticism but when mounting it the bell on mine was slightly wonky and i mount it bell side down (opposite to shown on the video) so it leans a bit but this is easily fixable by angling the clamp or stand u have it on
Sound : I was expecting more trash/crash since my logic was that I'll receive a thin cymbal which would crash nicely. What I actually got was a comparatively thick cymbal which had more of loud clang to it than crash. This is okay if you're looking for that but it wasn't for me. You might get more mileage if you drill some holes on it o-zone style. It's pretty cheap for a project as such.
Quality : Very flaky. Just all kinds of dents on the sides and on the cymbal itself. The hole was the worst as it seemed that it would tear through 2mm thick plastic covers if you let it. So this cymbal has the ability to destroy your hardware if it's badly finished (which mine was).
Conclusions : If you have spare cash and a need for a zany effect, go for it. It'll suit you well as a project too. Otherwise, you might want to shop around.
I'm amazed by how good it sounds for the price payed. It even holds the test of durability. Very pleased with the cymbal and would recommend to anyone who seeks a good sounding china with low budget!
This does not sound like a china.
it's extremely thick, short and high-pitched.
It only might work in some experimental Death Metal situations, other than that, it sounds like absolute shit
and also the build is bad, dented and the hole drilled wrong.
We got this as we needed to replace a cymbal in the drum kit. It’s for home use. Price was excellent and the item sounds and plays great. Well packaged and looks well in the drum kit. Doesn’t appear out of place or cheap. Quality item and recommended.
Usually china cymbals are in the upper price range, but this one has amazing price/quality ratio. I mainly use this one in darker metal tunes, but bell strikes may be applied to almost any genre.
The alloy is thick and durable, just as it has to be in the kind of banging these cymbals usually must endure. Sound is in the upper-mid register, short.
