Was looking for a hard case for my banjo for a while but every one I looked at cost as much or more than my actual banjo… this one is a great price and is great quality, can’t fault it. My banjo is open back so I bought some cheap packing foam to ensure a good fit and I’m very confident that this case will keep my banjo safe.
I bought it for the Concert Irish bouzouki Thomann sells. Although it wasn't listed as suitable and wasn't recommended, i checked the dimentions and it totally fits. It's a snug fit at first, but at least the instrument doesn't wobble or rattle around the case once it's being transported. The quality is OK for the price. Handle is a bit off. really weird position even for a banjo as the case wont be evenly balanced ever. The hinges and locking mechanisms are low quality stuff, but for storing the instrument safely they suit well. if you are looking for a travelling case, you might be better off with something more expensive.
You get a decent banjo case for the price. I own a Deering Goodtime 2 which fits perfectly. The case looks good and sturdy on the outside. The inside seems to be of good quality. One thing I noticed is that when I pick up the case by its handle with a banjo inside, the top lid and the bottom do not fully close creating a crack. Overall, if I was shopping for a banjo case with the same budget again, I would pick this one due to its value for the price. If I owned a more expensive banjo, I would invest in a better quality case.
These cases are recommended by my own luthier. He advised that they give better protection than older, traditional types, plywood cases.
I bought two for my banjos and one for my mandolin.
This is a well-made case with very good lining. I purchased it to protect the Irish Concert Bouzouki they sell here, and it’s a very good fit for that indeed!
I purchased this case to protect my banjo as I was continuously transporting and the flimsy gig bag I had was not suitable for this. The case is a perfect fit for my 5 string banjo, it’s well padded.
