I needed to mount a cymbal to a suitcase drum kit. Threaded this arm into a floor Tom bracket on top of the suitcase, and then a cymbal stacker on top of this.
The l arm is really sturdy, as you would expect from Tama. The quick nut is worth several euros alone! Would recomend to those who need it!
I bought this arm to mount a splash on the bass drum that I converted from a 16" floor tom. It fits perfectly into the leg holder and is very stable.
There really isn't much more to say about this thing other than its build quality is fantastic and sturdy, the felts are top quality, and you get the added benefit of having the QC8 quick-change cymbal adapter.
This has been a wonderful addition to my setup. 10 out of 10 would buy again.
The quick release costs almost €5 by itself. Which is ridiculously expensive for a piece of plastic in itself.
But on the other hand: I have used them for years now and at least they are tough.
Although I still keep using classic metal wingnuts whenever I use a quick release on another cymbal top with not enough (or bad) thread left on top.
The L-rod itself is in the tradition of Tama quality: build for life. And afterlife. Literally.
These are used in every situations when Z-rods won’t do.
These will fit in any available rod clamp on the market.
There are not too many brands loose cymbal L-rods available b.t.w.
