This stand continues the best hardware traditions of TAMA. Very sturdy and stable. It allows you to place your cymbal where and how you want. The upper shoulder can be folded over into the guide tube and used as a straight stand. Quick-cymbal mate on top (QC8) . As well multidisc plates tilt mechanism at the top, instead of gears- that allows you to choose any angle. Increased rubberized feet make it even more stable. Tama's engeneers said that they revised silhouette of legs so that you can put a few stands as close as possible to each other. I recommend!
I'm a novice drummer. I started out 10 months ago and have been using a Mapex Tornado kit.
My plan is to upgrade hardware piece by piece before swapping the shells out.
I decided to go Tama for the hardware as it seemed to have a reputation for being solid and well made. I am pleased to say I was not disappointed.
I chose the RoadPro line as I was looking for hardware robust enough to last how ever far my drumming journey takes me.
First impression was this is heavy - not in a bad way. Solid and weighty is a good way to describe it. The tubing is considerably thicker than the beginner level kit it was replacing.
I currently use it for my 18 inch and there's no wobble. or movement in use.
All of the adjustment keys are solid and precise. You loosen them, adjust the stand and goes where you want it and stays there.
Plenty of adjustment in the legs too. Substantial feet give means the stand stays in place.
I was planning on buy two more - one to use as straight stand for my second crash. In stead I plan to add a second for my ride and use a clamp and boom for the second crash - The stand is solid and stable enough to hold both.
So far I'm impressed and can't wait to replace the rest of my hardware.
