I needed a measurement mic to make acoustics measurements for my new studio, so I bought two of these just because, why not, they're so cheap. I tried them out as room mics when tracking drums, and was surprised with the result.
They sound incredibly natural to me. I own a pair of Oktava mk 012, SDC's, which of course are cardioid, and they sound harsh and noisy in comparison. My LDC's add their specific color to the sound, but these are just flat and natural all the way. Great transients. Measurement mics are supposed to have a bad noise floor but this hasn't been an issue for me. They're my go-to mics now for stereo-recording acoustic instruments, i've tracked guitars, accordion and percussion through these with great results. It may be a matter of taste, but I'm blown away. Of course, they're omni, so it depends a lot on the room as well (they pick up everything). But at this price you almost can't afford not to try them out.
They can be hard to fit into the mounts. Just use force.
