The Sommer Spirit XS line of TS jack-jack cables are all identical, aside from their lengths. This is great for building your own neat system for gigging, studio work or even just jamming! These cables are robust and the flat angled head for the connections are very ideal for pedal boards! They're also very unique looking so it's easy to identify your own cables amongst a pile of others.
The only negative point for this series of cables is that they are sometimes too large to fit in sockets that are tightly spaced. For example, stereo inputs and outputs on guitar pedals.
I got a bunch of cables from Thomann to be used in my recording project. These are fine cables that preclude noise that's picked up from the electrical devices in the room.
Good cables are very important. You can see this for yourself by comparing the signal-to-noise ratio of one of those cheap cables that come free with beginner guitars to that of a quality cable. You'll notice that the residual buzzing disappears leaving you with a clean signal to commit to tape or binary electrons infesting your computer device.
Unfortunately, the soldering on one of the jacks came off in a matter of a week. This wasn't an issue because I just resoldered and it works great, but it was worth a mention as some might not want the hassle.
I bought these cables to use for connecting my effect loop pedals to the amplifier and they do the job with no noise and no loose connectors. The flat jacks are ideal for pedalboard use!!
it doesn't sit in the jack the jack properly. It gets slightly pushed out so it doesnt make contact and i get no sound. tried it on two guitars, one of which is brand new, and same problem with both. i didn't get to send it back to Thomann because the 30 days were up before i was home form vacation to try it :(
lucky it was cheap.
I love this kind of angled jacks, they are thin and nobody can stop them, which was one of the problems I had with cables that are always on the floor. I would recommend these to everyone who has any effect pedals on the floor
Solid quality patch cables. Bought a bunch of these to route my whole pedalboard and they worked out great. A year later all cables are like new and show no wear at all.
Jacks are solid and have a good snug fit. Doesn't alter sound in ant way. Cable itself is quite flexible, which is good for tight or irregular spacing.
