I purchased these 2 years ago to replace the stock pick ups on my 2007 Gibson Les Paul studio. I bought it in conjunction with the Seymour Duncan APH-1B4C Zebra in the bridge position and I have never been happier with its sound.
Very nice warm sounding lead sounds that are full and well rounded. Really enjoyed messing with the pick up height especially as you can get super hot sounds as well as mellow creamy sounding positions. Really versatile.
The zebra pattern is also very pleasing to the eye and they are a lot of fun to install and come with a comprehensive instruction manual on how to fit them in a variety of different wiring configurations.
I installed this on an Epiphone Les Paul Studio LT in the neck position. For the bridge I took the SH-4. Doing so, I made a professional sounding guitar out of a 209 € guitar. I am very happy.
I can recommend using the Seymour Duncan website to select the best pickup for you! Then order with Thomann.
I have the APH-1N in my Gibson Les Paul neck position and it is a really nice and warm sounding humbucker. Works great from sparkling cleans and crunch to smooth power-tube distortion always with that classic woody 'honk' to it.
I'm pleased with this pickup but have little experience with fitting my own pickups so not sure what to expect. The sound quality of this pickup is massively better than the ones I had in the guitar before so I'm pleased.
I don't have a very high powered, or high quality, guitar amp at the moment however so it's tough to tell the real quality of it.
