I love this Rosin. It's excellent in a marine temperate environment - i.e humid / not hot. That being said, it wasn't so good in the 25c (still humid) weather we've had this summer but to be fair most rosins are made for inland areas so I wouldn't expect it to work all year round here. Bernadel and Pirastro olive/goldflex seems to be good in Scottish summer. This arrived broken in the first envelope (!) from Thomann but they were brilliant and replaced free of charge and well packed the second time.
For me the sound my bow gives after applying this rosin is rather sharp, maybe because this is ideal for soloists to stand out. If you have a dull or overly wooden fuzzy sound, then maybe this rosin could give it a more piercing quality. For me the sound is too sharp, but everyone is different. The rosin is low dust.
This rosin comes in a beautifully made octagonal case, which while it looks aesthetically pleasing actually serves the purpose of protecting the rosin itself. The rosin 'broke in' with the first few strokes along the bow hair, and improved my sound almost immediately. Really good rosin and surprisingly economical. Great!
