All MiCon adapters have a small issue with the connection of the cable on them that on this one is more easily apparent because of the extra weight. You need to make sure that the cable is connected tight enough. You can use the proper tool that is inside the Rode Lavalier's case to tighten and most importantly un-tighten the connection and connecti/remove the cable. If you tighten it by hand you might get intermittent crackling noises and long term destroy the adapter. On the other hand the cables themselves seem to not mind this force long term.
Perfect adaptor for Zoom H6 and Rode Lavalier Micorphones
Anonym 05.06.2015
I use these adaptors with Rode Lavalier Microphones to be able to use xlr-cables and connect the microphones to my zoom H6 when videorecording. It works very well.
The connection between the adapter and the small connector on the lavalier cable might seem a bit fragile. But it is apparently sturdier than it looks and has worked perfect now for more than a year.
(Since we don't record so often, and always sit in a studio-like way during our recordings, I prefer the extra fuzz with cables instead of worrying about batteries in wireless microphones. Not to mention that wireless lavalier microphones are much more expensive.)
Like the title states, this piece was purchased to replace the same adapter, which has been used since 2013. The old adapter had begun producing extra noise, and after changing the wires with new ones purchased from Thomann, the conclusion was a faulty MiCon 5 adapter. Of course I recommend this product and will continue to buy from Røde from Thomann.de
