I bought this couple of months ago from Thomann. I have been using this on my rode NTG-2. It does a really excellent job by reducing the sound of wind when working in outdoor locations. I highly recommend the rode DeadCat.
After finding out just how sensitive a rode ntg2 microphone is i thought theres no way this can stop wind noise from getting through but it really does a good job. At first i thougtht i'd just make my own for far less out of some material i had, Or I'd probably recommend people try 3rd party alternatives first, as the price is high for what it is so for me it loses a star for being overly expensive.
C'est pas du poil Rycott mais ça fait l'affaire dans certaines situations pas trop venteuse. Par contre la protection n'est pas de 360° évité les vent dos micros, n?oubliez pas la mousse du micro pour la placé.
It doesn't feel as good as the originals or the 3rd party ones, feels a bit cheap. I also don't imagine it diffuses the wind as effectively, although I haven't done comparative tests or anything, just my read on it from using it. It's okay in a pinch. Helps to an extent.
This is the lighter and cheaper option compared to a blimp. Although I'd recommend a blimp when using outside, this works well indoor to eliminate pretty much all wind noise. It slips ontop of the foam windshield.
A perfect fit for my NTG2 mic and fits snugly over the foam pop-guard. Not really suitable for high winds, only for a light breeze at best but provides a good transparency overall.
This is a great accessory for any hyper cardioid or stereo microphone. I use this on my Sony ECM XM1 camcorder microphone for recording video/audio outdoors on a windy day, and it makes a huge difference to the clarity of the audio as well as decreasing pops and peaking in the audio signal. It is ideal for recording ambiance for film/tv or for interviews in outdoor scenarios. Great quality material and very good fit. Highly recommended.
Bought deadcat for videomics, works as promised; reduces wind noise and fits rodes foam windshields perfectly.Only a very little difference while on/off, could be said that its almost transparent. Only minus is that fits only with rode foams.
