Rockbag Fingerboard Saver 1 narrow
Previously I have used the Göldo WS045 Fretboard Guard which measures approximately 80mm x 22mm with a slot that measures approximately 3 mm x 69 mm.
I found the Göldo slot to be too large and so I thought I would try the Rockbag version.
To start with the Rockbag actually contains two guards along with a couple of elastic bands to hold them in place.
The Rockbag fingerboard savers are available in three sizes, this is the narrow version.
The guard measure approximately 80mm x 60mm with a slot that measures approximately 70mm x 1.8mm
The guards are very neatly cut out from 0.2mm thick stainless steel with no obvious rough edges to worry about.
The slot is very narrow and I found it was too narrow for most of my guitars, certainly too narrow for any of my Gibson and most of my Fenders.
It only fitted two Japanese fenders, (a FSR competition stripe mustang and a '62 custom telecaster) both with really narrow vintage style frets.
The guards work well, much better than the Göldo guard and I will be ordering the two other sizes as soon as possible as they are very useful.
Good enough. What can you say and what would you say

Its made for a purpose and does it well.
There is not much more to add.
Handy discovery if you had never heard of it. And they last....I use them quite a lot.
This does the thing it should do; protects your fingerboard when filing or polishing your frets.
The hard part is use rubber bands to hold it on its place. I usually end up holding it by hand instead of using rubber bands. Holding this is easier if you add some duct tape to sides to make it a bit bigger and easier to hold.
