I've been using these for a couple of years now and they still maintain a nice thump. Compared to 1-ply Ambassadors, they:
• Have a slightly drier sound
• Have a beefier feel
• Are more resistant to shocks
• Are less flexible tuning wise*
*I think these heads sing the most in a middle tuning, where they don't feel or sound too flabby (too low tuning) or don't feel or sound squeaky (too high tuning).
So if you are looking for a typical rock sound that is a no-brainer and very resistant to heavy playing no matter the drumsticks you use, go for them. If you are looking to experiment with sounds and haven't tried 1-plies yet, I would give 1-plies a go first and then try these if you want something beefier along the road.
I bought this tom-tom drumhead set as part of the drumheads that I bought to put it on my DW PDP CM7 set. The sound is amazing and they fit perfectly.
With a very basic tuning you will get a great warmth and length out of your toms. As I used them for a recording I had to spend some more time on finding the perfect tuning for me where I've tuned the bottom drumhead half-way tight and then I tuned these heads on a non-wrinkle state.
So, just press your thumb on the center of the drumhead and start tightening the bolts. Ensure that there are no more wrinkles on the drumheads surface.
Do the final tuning details when they are all together on the rack and you're done.

My drummer needed new drums heads for our tama drumset, since it still had the original tama heads. Remo is a guarantee, and these are a balanced set. If I had some specific needs I would investigate online for the different models, but REmo are very good heads, and they will last for years.
Bought this set for my Pearl VBA kit. Remo Pinstripes really make toms and floortoms shine. Together with a clear ambassador on the resonant side of the drum, you have a golden combination. Just finger tighten the heads, add a quarter of half turn with the key, slightly tweak for an even sound around the edge of the drum, and you're all set.
Great sound when tuned correctly, used by many amazing drummers. Cora Colemans approach to using them with Beyoncé sounds deep and melodic. Defiantly recommend for fusion and rock players!
