Stand does not feel secure

I am not happy with this stand. The bolts to hold the upper section in place do not screw into the lower bar - they only press against it and you have to hope that you have screwed them tight enough to hold the weight of the large gong above. There is no other mechanism to ensure it stays in place, so I have to wait until the very beginning of my sound bath to install the large gong as I am worried that it will collapse, and to be honest I am worried throughout my workshop that the upper pole will slide down and my gong will smash my alchemy crystal bowls. I am going to have to add some other screws/drill holes or anything as a precaution. Very disappointed overall.
