Finally I took the BIG step into the world of the unknown (to me anyway) of this type of strings. Since 1991 I've used "regulary" strings for electrick guitars. They sound and feel great like they're supposted to. BUT since I've started to use these Pyramid Gold Flatwound 010-0465 strings, I've been in ecstacy. Combined with my Gretsch Country Gentleman you get blasted with the guitar sound of the early sixties. I play in a Beatles tribute band ind Denmark, and ever since I'd switch to the Pyramids I have nailed the tone 100 %. It's hard NOT to notice the guitar sound the flatwound strings produce and enjoy it when playing yourself.
In my opinion only a tiny amount of the clairity desappears. On the other hand, I receive plenty of guitar rock and pop tones blasted through the Vox AC30.
They price is relatively high, but there's som work put into this product which I gladly pay a bit extra for.
