Normally stereo to twin mono cables are split at the mono end. This one is Y split at the stereo end, which means you get two long mono jack runs without having to peel the cables apart.
I use these for splitting inputs on my edrum module to add extra pads/cymbals, and the long mono runs make it easy to arrange the cabes around the drum rack. I swapped out the straight mono jacks for some right angled jack connectors to allow the cables to exit the drum pads and run straight down to the rack rather than sticking out.
Quality is suprisingly decent. For my uses these are way thicker than needed just to carry the piezo signals to the module, but this should reassure anyone that is needing these for normal audio applications.
A very good buy assuming the split cable suits your needs, otherwise this could be a mild nuisance for you.
Been using these for over 2 years now to split my trigger pad signals into seperate mono zone triggers, and even pedals.
I previously used Hosa...and those performed very good. Years of live gigs and they survived. I think these will have the same durability.
What I would like it to have these with angled jack options.
Although we haven't had the chance to fully perform as we used to due to the China virus, these y-cables have still been dragged around between home, rehearsal studio's and scarce performances.
In operation, I didn't yet notice any difference in operation between this Prosnake TPY and the double so expensive Cordial CFY.
I use this cable to connect my Roland SPD-SX headphone output to my monitor board so i can head the headphone output and monitor the sound.
Also its very useful for using with triggers. The SPD-SX has a stereo trigger in, and I use this cable to split it and connect two triggers to it. Could be a little longer but it works great.
