I've purchased a couple of boom arms to go on my icon rack. They're a slightly different design to the older ones I have mainly they don't have a knurled arm and no longer convert into a straight stand by the arm going into the post body. Having said that as the arm now sits to the side of the post body the boom now has a slightly better range of movement. The build quality is superb and despite no knurled arm the boom had no trouble keeping a 20" crash in place. The giro lock is worth it's weight in gold and makes cymbal placement so easy. The arms still come with Pearl's quick release wing nut which is easy to use.
The boom arm is heavy and solid. It has a varieties of alignments. It has an anti-keyhole sleeve. There can be put any kind of cymbal on it, it doesn?t matter how much it weights.
The Pearl quick release Wing Lock is superb as always, you can swap a cymbal literally in one second. What more could one want?!
I use this for my 20' ride - very nicely adjustable and extremely stable. Withstands a couple of hours of almost constant crash-riding without any swiveling whatsoever. Would definetely buy again.
