After 10 years of weekly gigs requiring to carry heavy gear, I decided it was time for a lighter solution.
I had seen some artists using Helix, so I took the jump.
It has completely changed my life.
Now for gigs I bring my guitar and my helix, nothing else required. Direct to front of house. Sound engineers always tell me it sounds amazing.
Snapshots also improve live performance as I dont need to press 9999 footswitches between songs or in a song. It takes more work preparing for a gig, but it is totally worth it. Can focus on the important. This also forced me to always be well prepared for a gig making me a better guitarist.
Helix has been out for 6 years and is fairly popular, so if you don't want to make patches you can buy some amazing ones and sometimes get some good ones for free.
After a week of gigs with the Helix I actually sold my whole analog rig. I've had it for over a year now and still confident it was the right choice.
Also line6 customer support is really good. One footswitch was not working and I had the best customer experience ever.
