These are just as well made as other guards/pads, but I just bite through them more quickly than the best (about the same as As or Thomann clear pads, but the best by far were Thomann black).
The main difference I notice is the rubber is quite grey, not black. Like a car tyre, the black comes from added carbon, which makes the rubber resist cutting and abrasion, bulking out the rubber and so making it cheaper too.
These lighter coloured pads should contain more rubber then, but as a result these pads are softer and bite through more easily.
The texture feels fine to use. They come with branded 3M adhesive which works as well as any. Sadly I've never managed to get more than 2 hours of one of these pads, I always bite through. (Alto sax, Yamaha 4C mouthpiece)
Hopefully you bite less than me, but my advice is buy the blackest pads you can!
