I bought this to replace a broken boom arm on a cheap but otherwise-good Millenium microphone stand. Although the original Millenium boom arm wasn't of great quality, the rest of it was pretty decent for what it cost.
This boom arm is solid and very well made. It has a decent amount of weight. The adjustment knobs and screws all seem pretty rugged and hold the arm in position well.
Although it cost more than the original stand+boom arm together, I think it is still good value for money for the quality it offers and is a great upgrade to the original stand.
Overall it's a great boom arm, however, slightly unstable when extended further out because of no counterweight (easy enough to make a homemade one as ive found) so ideally it could do with one from factory but not too much of a downside if you sort that out. The construction is ridgid and doesnt feel like its going to bend on me anytime soon, even the thinnest extension is sturdy. The clamp on the pivot is strong and you dont need to tighten it much to keep it steady.
