I use this capo as a backup and it does the job. However, the design pulls the strings to one side and you have to be careful when putting it on. I have a couple of G7 capos which I mainly use but to take to the beach or as a backup it does the job. It is also pretty quick and easy to put on and take off, no fiddling with screws or elastic bands.
... but it works.
Quality is ok, but the system is not really the best. Useing it on my electric and it works. However, its everytime a litte fight to open and remove it again.
So, it is cheap, it works and it is not the best. If you need a capo from time to time, it is the right one for you, if you need it every day, go for another one.
There are no doubt many better capos out there... I have collected quite a few over the years, but this is actually pretty good for a tiny cost. You do need to take care when tightening it because it has a tendency to pull the strings over to one side of the neck if you don't.
Basically, the advice is to put downward pressure onto the capo to hold it steady whilst you pinch it up tight with the other hand, then you're good to go.
I do notice a tonal difference compared to say, the Shubb, Paige and Planet Waves NS design. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on your personal opinion.
In conclusion, a nice uncomplicated design that works well once you get the hang of it and it is very unlikely to damage your guitar.
I got this at first from a friend as a gift..Well, im liking it..though its not much, still this capo's one of good stuff out there..nothing wrong and its work fine..so, right now im ordering items from thomann why should'nt i add this in my shopping basket..
It is a good capo. The material, although plastic is very durable. Holds the strings very well, which allows to obtain the desired tuning without any problem. I've used different guitars, like a lot..
