I bought this for a custom strat I was building. I needed a custom pickup configuration of H+S, so I had to make my own pickguard.
This pickguard is of good quality plastic. Thickness is 2.15 mm. Top side is very glossy and comes protected with a plastic wrap. It comes with a shielding foil attached above the pot cavity area, which is nice.
I cut the holes with a hand jigsaw and filed the edges with a dremel tool. Not the most professional solution, but result was ok for my needs, and cutting was quite easy. Of course if you have access to some kind of milling machine - that would yield best results.
A good quality blank pickguard, all black. Can be shaped with simple hand tools and a bit of patience. I bolted another pickguard with the correct pickup configuration on top of it to get the pickup holes in the right place. The top is very shiny. I sanded it up to 3600 grid and waxed it. Looks and feels great. I would buy this again.
for the money this costs i really did expect the 8 holes to line up alot better than they did, middel left hole as looking at the pickguard and bottom right didn't line up anywhere near for both my squire or my fender.
other than this the pickguard is fine, i would like to see some chamfering/shaping of the sides but i suppose i can do this myself.
