I would say it is a big step up from older affinity models. Basically, it is like a Fender Player Strat but with Ceramic magnets instead of Alnico and 21 frets instead of 22. A great guitar choice for modding too.
I was unlucky and got a guitar with defected electronics and strings were not in the center of the neck. So, I had to return it back, but will absolutely buy one again. It is a normal thing with cheap guitars because it is a mass-produced product, so the quality is not equal, but do not let it scare you from buying one.
Pros:
+ A lot better frets then you would expect. No sharp edges or any discomfort
+ 42mm nut width and 1 string tree instead of 2
+ Better quality pickups and electronics
+ A Beautiful flamed maple top
+ New vintage tuners hold guitar in tune a lot better (if you know how to use them)
+ 2-point tremolo and no sharp saddles
+ A big 70s headstock with gloss finish
+ A thinner, lighter and more comfortable guitar body then regular Strat
+ No gloss finish on the neck like on Classic Vibe series...
Cons:
- The guitar body is made of 3 wood parts that does not even match the color. (Only visible on the back of the guitar because of clear finish)
- 21 frets
- I got one that is made in China even through it should have been Indonesian made
