I will be short and to the point.
These tuners are simply phenomenal.
I installed them in my Made in Mexico Player ll series Stratocaster they were a perfect fit. No need for drilling. Just disconnect the old ones and screw these into place, done.
They hold the tuning perfectly. Big bends, no problems. Relatively big tremolo bar bends, no problems. Hard rhythm playing, no problems. I tried my darnest to get these strings out of tune simply couldn't do it.
Now, I know there is a lot of debate online whether or not these really do improve tuning all that much. I will just say this, if your nut is well cut and lubricated with Big Bend's Nut Sauce and the string doesn't get caught anywhere in the nut and is allowed to move freely these tuners will hold the tuning, period. This is my experience.
What we all can agree on is that string changing is now much simpler and faster than before.
Pull the string through the tuner hole tightly, tighten the screw on the back tight (but not overly tight, don't over-tighten) and your set. Tune it up and clip of the excess string and done.
I will also add that after 20+ years of playing various guitars and using various tuners I can with my hand on my heart say that these did improve my tone too. Not only are the strings softer in Standard E tuning using these locking tuners but I swear to you these did something to my overall tone as well, no kidding.
These are the locking tuners you deserve. My opinion is that you owe it to yourself to at least try these yourself. As I said they fit my MiM Player ll series stratocaster and I have a feeling these will fit most MiA / MiM strats/teles.
Have fun playing in tune!
