Heard about this strings on some youtube videos and thought, let?s try. Have them on my Charvel model 4 where I previously used a lot of different brands.
The strings sounds a bit too sharp the first 3-4 hours before they are played in, so to speak.
Thereafter they start to sound more "organized" and with a very nice clarity. They last far longer than "ordinary" strings.
If you talk about this strings as stand alone strings without comparing them to other brands, then they are extremely good.
But are they worth the 3 times higher cost than Pyramide strings I normally use now? I would say NO.
Cobalt of course don?t last 3 times longer, and the sound is not 3 times better. They maybe last 30-40 % longer than Pyramide strings
and the sounds is a little bit more organized and maybe 10 % better.
But if you consider sound/cost ratio, then I really don?t think it?s a major hit. Everything depends what people think and the priority they make. If this strings we?re on at least same price level as Dean Markley Blue Steel then I would say the Cobalt is worlds best strings.
