This Limited Edition from Epiphone really offers a lot of Les Paul guitar for the money. Having read and seen very positive reviews on YouTube and elsewhere (and taking advantage of Thomann's excellent 30 days Money-Back offering), I ordered this guitar with great expectations. The technical data with the emphasis on US/Gibson electronics and Burstbucker PUs are serious updates on any Epiphone guitar. As usual ordering process and delivery from Thomann was top notch.
As for the guitar:
Hmm... Any guitar has to be adjusted to suit the individual player's preferences. But this one - out of the box - really needed some serious adjustments to neck and string height. Intonation was OK, but a truss rod adjustment was needed as well as adjusting the heitght of the bridge. So if your are not comfortable with doing this yourself, you must be prepared to let a luthier do it for you. Even at this price level, I would have expected a better setup out of the box.
I am able to make those adjustments, so now it plays like I expected. The neck, frets, pots and pickups are very, very good. Also the cosmetics are very nice. The half-dimmed satin look is quite nice, and gives the guitar a nice 'aged' appearance.
All in all a very good guitar - and for price it is actually a fantastic buy.
