The smallest cab from the EBS classic line family. I use this cab in combination with the EBS reidmar head. This particular cab has a nice classic tone and has a fairly flat frequency response. Its sounds incredibly warm and full. However do not let the classic label put you off as this cab is extremely versatile will feel at home playing modern music or slap bass. Has great definition and punch for a 1x12 cab. You'll definitely struggle to be heard over a 5150 half stack but in most cases it will be fine playing in smaller venues without needing a PA.
It doesn't have a lot of features but offers fantastic value for any gigging bassist looking for a light weight cab. Would have preferred to have two handles but it is light weight enough to be carried with one hand. Removable cloth grill but it looks hideous underneath so not sure why anyone would bother to remove it.
I bought this to pair with a aguilar th 350 and so far it seems like a great match.
It is punchy, warm and loud, definitely more old sckool.
However that could be down to the aguilar amp as well. It has a ceramic speaker which makes it heavier than you would expect but its still a one handed lift.
I plan to get another one of these and have an awesome mini stack that should handle any gig without pa support. I mostly play covers for function band and pop/r and b/jazz dates
I've been using these cabinets for a few years now (with the Reidmar 250) and I'm really happy with the overall sound and construction of the cabinet, considering the price point.
The sound is modern, however has a nice roundness to it that isn't overpowering. My only gripe with the cabinets is weight. They're quite heavy for a cab of this size and I have found myself on occasion reaching for a pair of Mark Bass 2x10s instead because of this.
However that being said, these really are great for the price.
I would recommend if weight isn't a massive issue, or if you need something of quality on a tighter budget.
Very impressed with the way these cabs perform, they sounds great and look awesome too. I play an old P bass and also Double bass through these and the tone is great! The only criticism I have is that they dont come with rubber feet on the opposing side to the handle but I will add them soon myself. Behind the grille is nothing to be desired aestetically, but very helpful for recording purposes to be able to remove the grille in a miced up situation. I was reluctant to purchase cabs with Tweeters as I don't really like the sound, but in a loud band situation it helps me to hear more clarity if I turn the tweeter on the top cab on. Over all, a good buy and I would happily encourace other bassists to buy EBS gear.
