Decided to give it a try when buying new drumset.
Lubricating the bearing edge is not new to me, I was using car silicone spray or vaseline before that, but the latter could probably harm the drumheads.
The drums are more responsive to tuning and stay in tune longer when bearing edge is lubricated, but be sure to use something like this not to ruin the heads. It has no cleaning properties - the consistency is like lipstick or dry paper glue.
I haven't felt the need to lubricate the bearing edge when installing drum heads in the past but I saw this when ordering new ones and thought I would give it a go. The material (what ever it is) is pushed up in the same way a chapstick (or lipstick for the ladies) does but what ever it's made from doesn't like to spread evenly, it just crumbles apart and leaved lumps all over the place! It may as well come in a tin or jar and be applied with your finger as that's the only way to evenly spread it anyway.
Use of this product makes tuning of the heads a little smoother and more responsive. It is not a revolution but it is still a useful product. It is easy to apply and will last a long time.
well, this is my go to cleaner. in Indonesia we have problem with very moist weather, and often the bearing got noisy when we attached the drum head. And this little savior solved the problem immidiately. I tried other stuff but didnt works as good as this one.
I suggest to anyone who found the problem as mine. Recommend this!
