This pickup was installed in an Ibanez RG for playing classic rock. It was very disappointing at first - the sounds were not quite as advertised. Here lies the quirk of the Paf Pro - you have to spend time and adjust the height properly. Set it too low and it becomes bland and boring, like a cheap stock pickup. Set it too high and it gets very bassy and muddy. Set it just right and it sings! The cleans are chimey and sparkly, like a single coil, but with the power of a humbucker. As you turn up the gain, the Paf Pro does not get muddy and maintains string separation for chords. And it plays well with effects like chorus and delay, too. If you like the 80s, you'll love this pickup.
