The DiMarzio FS-1 is the perfect replacement for anyone that's looking for a single coil pickup with extra fatness and......well...oomph really.
Truly superb pickup....if it's good enough for me and John Norum....it's good enough for anyone.
Buy them, fit them and marvel at the hugeness of you sound.
I've used this pickup in several strats. The last one being a fender Nile Rodgers Hitmaker strat. The original bridge pickup in that strat is useless to me: way too bright and very weak in output. This dimarzio FS1 solved those problems and keeps the guitar looking original.
I installed this on my Strat which has very good pickups, those are Abigail Ybarra's, I replaced the Bridge pickup with this FS1 and it pairs well as the tone is not that bright compared to the Neck and Middle PUs
Just had one installed on my squier venus to match with a super D. Sounds great!! I play a lot of different sounds from punk to 50s R&R and I can squeeze a lot of tonal variet outta this pick up. Not as bright as a standard single coil but still pleanty of high note distinction and paired with my super d in the bridge it works very well. Nice clear separartion in chord work and solo playing is smooth and bitting. My venus has a basswood body & rosewood neck and it works well in this set up. defo worth a try. I can imagine it working well in the mid position of a fat strat. good choice if you want a little more low end. try one.
