I own a Mesa Mark V:35 and at home I could never use it at a volume higher than the lowest at which it would produce a sound. I needed some nice way to reduce the volume so I went looking for a solution.
Clearly the WAZA tube amp expander has two other competitors, the OX Box and the Captor X. After checking all the options around, the WAZA really surpases, to me, the competition given the nice sounds of their reverb (which replaced my pedal) and delay (which I don't really use) and the easier to operate sound than the OX.
It only loses a start in features for two reasons:
1. It requires a wired USB connection from my laptop
2. It would be really nice to have double microphone option in the cab simulator.
The WAZA TAE offers good options for playing live and recording silently in your home studio. It has an internal editor for manage lots of impulses and it let you import your external impulses too. It supports also come internal features like compression, reverb and EQ.
Cons: Unfortunately it let you use only ONE impulse at time, when other competitor (OX Box, Torpedo) let you use more than one, so you have to use other tricks if you want to use more than one impulse.
Pro: It's a very good attenuator and it manage well the sound from the head.
